August haul

 I am on Forest essentials kick these days. I tried their delicate cleanser and Facial ubtan. So,I wanted to explore the brand more. I didn’t have any plans on my mind what to pick. I entered into the store at Phoneix market city, this time I tried their body lotions, all of them were so amazing and I have zeroed down to their Bengal tuber rose lotion. There is no any surprise that a flower and fragrance lover in me picked up this lotion. Apart from that I picked their Jasmine and patchouli night cream. Then as usual at health and glow store I picked Lotus 3 in 1 matte look sunscreen lotion.

NIVEA REPAIR AND BEAUTY LIPBALM REVIEW

Lipbalms were the first skincare/lipcare product ,with which  I have started my makeup horading journey.I suppose many of you also started your vanity kit with a lipbalm or a Kajal.I have tried many lipbalms that is available in India. To start with I have very unmananageble dry and pigmented lips and they go bad in condition even with slight change in weather. So, I need to be careful in taking care of lips. On my recent trip to my hometown,due to cold weather in the early morning my lips got chapped and eventually turns  in to dark lips.I really needed an immediate remedy to solve my problem.I was  advised to apply ghee or butter.but nothing worked on me.Then during usual visit to supermarket for groceries,this lipbalm caught my attention and immediately I grabbed it.

                The words”REPAIR AND BEAUTY” on the package attracted me.When opened I could see a two layer of bullet with white inner core and pink external layer.It is so creamy in texture,just melts on lips unlike other lipbalm variants form Nivea.Packaging is so simple and functional for travelling,slip into handbag or for keeping it in bedside.

                I always have a soft corner towards Nivea products from my teenage,my relative visited us from abroad gifted me with a tin of good old blue tin nivea cream,which is still in my like list for its softness and moisturizing property.As soon as I came home I apply this lipbalm on my lips and felt the tingling sensation due to Dexapanthenol in it. I felt little better than before so I started applying it religiously for three days. YES!!!!!it works.I t reformed my badly cracked lips. It definitely goes to my repurchase list and possibly a backup that could be useful while travelling or as a  night treatment for lips.

Pros:

• It is very effective on chapped lips

• Nice tingling sensation
• It mositurises my dry lips well
• Attractive packaging

Cons :

•  It has to stored in fridge to avoid melting in hot summers.
• It leaves a whitish coat on my pigmented lips

HEALTH AND GLOW KABUKI BRUSH

              I missed blogging these days because family function kept me busy running around for organising,shopping, shopping and shopping only, that ranges from street shopping to high end shopping.After a pretty long break,today I am going to review about Health and glow kabuki brush. I am a makeup hoarder and beginner who always looking for good and affordable makeup brushes. But when I visit at MAC or Chanel or TBS stores, I hesitate to buy their brushes because of their very steep price. When I was in a mall shopping, just entered into Health and glow store to repurchase some goodies. In their brush, hair clips, bath sponge section, I saw this brush and noticed the price and grabbed immediately, because only two pieces were left.

Price: MRP Rs: 289, but I got this for Rs 239

I was super happy to be owner of this kabuki brush. At the store itself I asked the SA to cut open the pouch to feel the softness of the bristles and YES!!!! they are. To comment on this kabuki brush, it is designed with a cute black handle with very dense bristles. They mentioned it as natural hair but I don’t know that whether they are artificial or natural. It is very easy to hold, and pick just the right amount of the product. As soon as I came home, tried it with MAC mineralize skin finish natural powder, Chanel loose powder and my powder blush. With all of them it sure performed well. Since it is very dense it didn’t take much time to cover entire face and it gives a flawless even finish. I have been using this for three months now and I have washed it 6 times with baby shampoo and didn’t notice any shedding of bristles.

·         When I apply loose powder, if I give more strokes, feels little scratchy.

·         If unwashed after 2-3 uses, product gets built up and feels scratchy.

MY WEEKEND HAUL

Hi girls there,

           How are you people?How was your weekend? Mine was filled with joy with a family outing.We went to temple,shopping mall and a nice dinner.I am more of a skincare person than a makeup junkie,always wanted to try skincare stuffs.Because I strongly beleive that to attain a nomakeup/natural madeup look,my skin has to be clear and healthy.On good skin days I could slather some sunscreen,sheer layer of compact,Kajal,lipbalm or sheer lipstick and I am ready to go,If I care my skin properly.

           I have a oily skin with acne marks here and there,so I was searching for a "Herbal based mild cleanser" that would not strip off my natural oils.So,the keywords I had in my mind exactly matched,When I entered into Forest essentials store at Phoneix market city.The SA was so sweet and kind enough to explain about their range of products.I grabbed Kashmir saffron and neem mild cleanser suitable for oily skin type and much raved Narangi Nagkesar ubtan.I got few samples also.The ambience and smell lingering in the store was so magical and divine.

         Then as usual I headed into Health and glow store and picked Lakme lipliner,Himalaya Anti hair fall cream and few more stuffs.

HAPPY WEEKEND

Hi Everybody there,

MAC VIVA GLAM III REVIEW

            I suppose MAC lipsticks need no introduction among makeup lovers. Each and everyone rave about MAC lipsticks among beauty bloggers.So; I thought of give it a try. I am medium to dusky skinned girl (NC44) went to the MAC showroom . The SA here was very comfortable and friendly towards me.It was a funfilled shopping, the SA was not pushy and I could swatch whatever I want even the colors that didn’t suit me as well. Just played with colors and have added many in my wish list. Finally I bought Mac viva glam III based on the recommendation by the SA along with skinfinish natural powder foundation. So, today I am reviewing the shade Viva glam III.Read on further how it fared on me.

Packaging: MAC lipstick comes in a standard black, sturdy bullet shaped packaging engraved with MAC silver letters.Inside the bullet the lipstick holder is pink in color.

My opinion

I use lipstick on daily basis,I hope that little dash of color that balance our skin tone would lift the whole look, and gives coolness of feeling and looking good. Mac viva glam III is a soft, muted, matte finish lipstick that is moisturizing. Since it is a matte finish, the color of this lipstick is pretty pigmented and gives a beautiful finish in just one swipe. I have to wear lip balm underneath to get a swipe like butter otherwise it gives a muted look. Coming to the staying power it easily stays on my lips for 3-4 hrs with light snacks and drinks. But it transfers on cups. The most expected part of mine with the lippie is lifting the complexion, I am quite disappointed with that quality. It didn’t brighten my look rather made it look dull faced. Not the fault with the lipstick but the wrong shade selection.

I am still on searching of my holy grail lip color that suits my complexion better and not look like over the top.

ELLE 18 GLOW COMPACT –MARBLE REVIEW

Hi girls there? Today I start my first post with a budget friendly product "Elle18 glow compact in marble shade".Already I have my favorite MAC powder foundation,skin finish natural and lakme compact,still I was in hunt for some go to compact that can be slipped into my handbag for outdoors.I have a soft corner on Elle18 products from my teenage,since they are affordable,decent quality and performance.When I read about the new range of products launching,I rushed to nearby supermarket,picked this glow compact.So,you please read further whether it turns yay or nay to me.

My take on ELLE 18 GLOW COMPACT –MARBLE:

First thing I fallen in love with this is the compact comes in a black sleek package,attractive enough to grab with out any second thought.It  is so droolworthy with cute girl image on the lid.The smell reminds me exactly like lakme compact does.Texture also similar to compare with.powder puff provided with the compact is not so good quality,similar to lakme compact.The shade marble is in a way paler than my complexion.But I use it with a powder brush  with light hand,that gives me a bright complexion atleast for two hours that I always wanted during wedding and festival seasons. The very next day I wore this to my workplace.It vanished and my face become oily in T zone as usual. I live in a hot and humid place so, I don’t expect this powder stay long on me.When coming to the blending part,it does NOT blend like a dream you have to blend it thoroughly to get a natural look otherwise you may  look ashy.According to me this is a decent product with minimal staying powder,it does not impart any glow to skin ,but gives a fresh matte looks like lakme matte complexion compact.
So,girls those who are looking for a glowing,natural finish,long staying compact I recommend you to save some money,read some reviews and invest .But if you want a compact to slip into your purse or handbag for touchups in between you can opt for this like I did.

 Pros:

• It will not make a big hole in your pocket,students can easily go with it.
• Fresh matte look
• Sleek ,attractive packaging
• Travel friendly,even in a sleek clutch you can carry this

• Staying power
